So how hard is it to use peel and sticks. Here are some installation tips:
Thoroughly clean wall and make sure it is free of moisture. For recentlypainted walls let paint "cure" for 10 to 15 days prior to applying decals. Even if new paint feels dry, it may continue to need to settle and totallycure. Peel and Stick Wall Decals are not recommended on "Orange Peel" textured walls, over cinder blocks, very uneven and porous surfaces, wallpaper or fragile surfaces. Wall stickers are OK to apply onto tile provided that the surface is thoroughly clean and absolutelydry during application. Be sure the design element does not cover grout area as water mightfilter under and compromise the adhesive. Apply onto shower walls, as long as they are positionedsnugly onto the surface so wateris unable toreach under the decal. Once placed, RoomMates won'tshift even if sprayed by shower.
Vinyl wall decals shouldn't be placed in a dishwater or microwave and they shouldn't be placed on rugs, fabrics and any other textiles. Textile fibers may stick to the adhesive and damage the merchandise. Also, neverplace at the bottom or inside the tub. Water could filterbeneath the design element too easily and would damage the adhesive. When applying, make sure you get started from one side (for the border) or the top (for the appliques) of each element. Keep the rest of the element away from the wall/surface. Slowly go down over the product with your hand and smooth the element onto surface (and press the bubbles out as you go). Once applied you should be able to move any leftover bubbles out by pressing/smoothing them out of the element. If the difficultypersists (this would onlyoccur with the giant decals), you can punch a teeny (invisible to the eye) hole with a pin to press the air out.
In all, it will always bebest to test wall decals in an inconspicuous area. If the surface is textured, effectiveness could be significantlydiminished. Make sure surface is thoroughly clean of dust and dirt or you may damage the adhesive and damage the merchandise. |
